How the IMPORT WIZARD is packaged and priced...
IMPORT WIZARD is ideally suited to import data into Medisoft from a variety of external systems (i.e. EMR, Laboratory Software, Hospital Information Systems, Schedulers, etc.). To use the IMPORT WIZARD you simply generate ASCII CSV files from your external system and write them to a known location (the IMPORT WIZARD “Import” folder). Run the IMPORT WIZARD and direct it to read the CSV file in that folder, it parses the data and writes it to the Medisoft database that you select (yes, you can select among multiple databases).
When creating cases in Medisoft from your external system, matches for patients and providers are made based on a variety of references which would normally be unique in both systems such as social security number, date of birth, NPI, etc. IMPORT WIZARD also stores a chart number for each patient from the external system (EMR, Laboratory Software, Hospital Information Systems, Schedulers, etc.) and can match future transactions based on that external (i.e. non Medisoft) chart number.
Here are the different IMPORT WIZARD products...
IMPORT WIZARD Basic- will import master file data from our CSV ASCII file format specifications into Medisoft (this includes Patient File, Address File, Guarantor File, CPT Codes, ICD Codes and Insurance Carriers but does not include the Patient Case or the case relationships).
IMPORT WIZARD Plus Cases- adds the capability to import current insurance information for each patient and create a case that corresponds to that patient visit.
IMPORT WIZARD Plus Transactions- can import all the master file data, import current insurance information for each patient, create a case and import transaction information (i.e. procedure codes, diagnosis codes, charges, etc.) for that patient visit.
Windows Service application for CSVs- The Customized Windows Service application runs in the background and poles a folder watching for .CSV files. The service takes a .CSV file in a pre-agreed format and creates an Import Wizard Transaction Import Format (IWTIF) file. That IWTIF file can be selected in the Import Wizard and the data can be imported into a Medisoft database. Note that once the .CSV format is agreed upon and development work is began, changes to the .CSV format will incur additional charges and .CSV files that are processed by the Windows System Utility must be in the correct format or they will not be processed correctly.
IMPORT WIZARD is currently an “on demand” system and each import is initiated by the operator (i.e. typically a biller).
Please note that many times third party report generating softwares such as Crystal Reports can be used to export data from your external system (i.e. EMR, Laboratory Software, Hospital Information Systems, Schedulers, etc.).
IMPORT WIZARD can be used for a one time data conversion or for the ongoing import of data from your external system to Medisoft. Installation assistance and support for IMPORT WIZARD are provided at no cost for 30 days from the date purchased with hour limatations for the various products. Additional support after 30 days is usually not needed but is available by the hour, delivered in 15 minute blocks.

Additional Terms:
Moving the Import Wizard to another computer will incur an additional $50 charge for a new activation key (it is keyed to a particular computer) so you want to be sure that the initial installation is on the computer you want to use for this workflow.
Medical Software Tools gives you the opportunity to confirm that the Import Wizard will meet your needs before you purchase by allowing you to do a Test Drive of the product. For that reason, all sales are final.
Customer systems are expected to be up to date with all proper patches and running AntiVirus / AntiMalware. The Windows System Utility require .NET 4.7.2 or higher. Installation of MST related products includes one practice. Deviations from these stipulations may incur additional labor charges by MST.
